Walking in Godly Authority

As Christians, we have been adopted into the family of God (Galatians 3:26 and 4:6). As His children, we are entitled to all kingdom rights and privileges. The Lord is our Daddy; we have rights to everything He owns and—just for the record—He is not poor. One of the most important things we inherited from Him is authority.

Change Your Vision

Your duty as a child of God is to destroy the works of the devil in the earth. This power is a part of the total salvation package that Jesus died for you to have. You need to get a clear picture of yourself and understand that you are a royal ruler. See yourself as the leader that you are; the Lord has graced you to do so. Remember that mature children of God walk are not doormats; they graciously walk in their authority because they are authorized by divine power (1 John 4:4).

Exert Your Power in a Godly Way

Start commanding challenges in your life to line up with the Word of God. Do not tolerate foolishness from the enemy. You have to exercise your authority because it is preparation for Heaven (Genesis 1:26, John 5:19). Through salvation, we have been positioned to rule over darkness and demons. God expects us to be firm with the devil because his agenda is to destroy us. However, we must have a balance and be sure to display the love of God to those around us. Our authority should not be used to humiliate or belittle people. We are trying to draw people to Christ not push them away.

As a mature Christian, use your leadership to inspire by example. In Ephesians 2:1-6 of the Message Bible, says that:

1 -6It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah.

Dominion Belongs to God

When you come across the spirits of drama and adversity, let your godly authority rise up in you. That’s why it is important to stay steeped in the Word so that your flesh won’t get in the way. Your authority is limitless and has the ability to move mountains in your life. Your job is to secure the land with your confession and faith and to not succumb to the devil’s attacks (Mark 11:22, Hebrews 11:6, Psalms 8:3).

You should never want for anything in Christ because He has already given you everything you need for life and godliness. The challenges are coming, so you have to be ready. Your power to rule is inside of you so begin to develop it. Your power grows when you refuse to give in t emotions and pain. Make your choices up on the Word of God—not how you feel. Remember that you reign as a believer and that you have the victory in every situation. Keep your thoughts in line with the Word!

Heaven On Earth
Battle for the Family
Focusing on Our Children

Consider this: It’s very important for men to lead their families in the way of God especially in our culture which is centered on being liberal and politically correct. When fathers order their home after God’s principles, the favor of the Lord will rest on his live and his family (Genesis 18:17).

Generations of Blessings
Parents are expected to pass on the teachings of the Lord to their children. This is so because they will have to answer to God about their parenting style and what they instilled in their children. Parents are supposed to train children in the way of the Lord. Many people don’t realize that children are gifts from the Lord and are lent to their parents. Therefore, mothers and fathers should raise their children to become kingdom weapons for the Lord (Psalms 127:4).
Unfortunately, over the years, parents have become lax and live by the philosophies, culture and trends of the world. The enemy has a presence in many Christian homes and the fruit of it is destroying our children. Satan is ravaging our families because God has been removed, and there is a rebellion against His Word. Over fifty-four percent of teens are sexually active, and there have been at least one million abortions performed yearly. Further, a shocking fifty percent of children are abused or victimized (2 Timothy 3:1).
Strongholds in Parenting
A stronghold is defined as an area where people are used to following customs and thinking an old (or particular) way. One of the greatest issues in parenting is rebellion. Children often rebel against their parents because parents rebel against the Lord. Rebellion is the resistance to God’s instruction, His Word, and His delegated person.

Romans13:1-3 (The Message Bible)
Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible.
In fact, some key reasons that people rebel against the Lord are due to low self esteem, resentment, bitterness (to be bitter is to be at war with God), lack of honor for instruction (Matthew 13:53) of lack of trust in the Lord. Rebellion blocks blessings and is a form of witchcraft. It also cancels all of the good that we do (1 Samuel 15:19). Ask yourself this, if your children don’t obey you the parent who has been ordained of the Lord to guide them, then who are they obeying (Zephaniah 3:2)?

A Warning from God
There is a great penalty for those who rebel against the Lord and refuse His instruction.
Proverbs 8:1-11 (The Message Bible)
Lady Wisdom Calls Out
Do you hear Lady Wisdom calling? Can you hear Madame Insight raising her voice? She’s taken her stand at First and Main, at the busiest intersection. Right in the city square where the traffic is thickest, she shouts, “You—I’m talking to all of you, everyone out here on the streets! Listen, you idiots—learn good sense! You blockheads—shape up! Don’t miss a word of this—I’m telling you how to live well, I’m telling you how to live at your best. My mouth chews and savors and relishes truth— I can’t stand the taste of evil! You’ll only hear true and right words from my mouth; not one syllable will be twisted or skewed. You’ll recognize this as true—you with open minds; truth-ready minds will see it at once. Prefer my life-disciplines over chasing after money, and God-knowledge over a lucrative career. For Wisdom is better than all the trappings of wealth; nothing you could wish for holds a candle to her.

Proverbs 5:1-2 (The Message Bible)
Dear friend, pay close attention to this, my wisdom; listen very closely to the way I see it. Then you’ll acquire a taste for good sense; what I tell you will keep you out of trouble.

Parents must be willing to train and raise their children. Training is not easy, but it will save their lives (Proverbs 19:18). I encourage you not to be a willing participant in their death. Remember that all mothers and fathers will answer to the Lord. Make sure God is first in your home.

Pastor Joyce

The Power of Praise

Praising God is the layaway plan of Heaven.  Praise now and collect later.  Remember that God can always be trusted.  He is not man, and He cannot lie.

Praise Makes Your Blessings Possible

Every time you praise God, your faith strengthens.  You praise the Lord by showing thankfulness for what He has done.  True praise is prompted by the Holy Spirit.  In order to praise God, you have to be thankful.  Your blessings are directly proportional to your thankfulness.

Remember Abraham?  Despite he and Sarah’s aged bodies, he praised God any way and thanked Him for his son Isaac.  By all human and medical standards, it was no way Sarah could have successfully carried and birthed a child.  But Abraham’s praised tapped into the supernatural and grabbed the promise given to him by the Lord.  He was fully persuaded and because of His praise, Abraham became the father of many nations (Romans 4:19).

Praise Blockers

Did you know that lack of praise creates dullness?

Many people can praise God at the beginning of a blessing.  But what will you do when you actually receive the blessing?  Don’t let familiarity and ungratefulness melt your praise.  When we forget God, and think our talent supports us, we will be destroyed.  Anything that we praise ourselves for (and not God) is not protected by Him.  Will you remember God in the midst of your success?

Every time that we neglect to praise God for something, our hearts become calloused, and we are blinded to His favor right in front our eyes.  We have to recognize His favor because it is hidden His Word.  Also, the favor of the Lord is found inside of His church and His anointed (people).

Devotion to God and thankfulness are connected to great harvest (Colossians 4:2).

You see, the ungrateful don’t keep watch over what God has given them.  We tend to be possessive over the things that we cherish.  You should guard what you praise God for.  When you are thankful for something you maintain it. The Lord wants us to praise Him for His favor. The more thankful we are the more He blesses us with.

Next Level Praise

We have entered into the age of increased favor.  It’s time to be thankful for not only present favor, but the godly favor that is to come.  The Lord continues to pour out increased favor on His church because the world is contaminated with darkness.  He knows we need His favor.

Exalt the Lord for the next stage of favor.  Practice believing Him for your future blessing.  Never let your mind, eyes or doubters talk you out of your belief.  Praise brings peace (Psalms 37:25).  As you affirm what the Lord has done for you through praise, you are deleting all room for doubt and only praising Him for what you want to see.

You may have education and skill, but God gives favor.  Every thing that you have came from Him (James 1:17).  Just like His wealth, the Lord’s grace and favor is all around you (Matt. 13:14).  Keep praising Him to keep that favor flowing (Deut. 8:17).

Love,

Pastor Joyce
