Two Conditions of the Heart

Scripture Reading: Exodus 16

The Israelites were supernaturally set free from the bondage of Egyptian slavery, but in less than three months following the historic miracle of freedom, they were complaining. As a result, God put them on restrictions, and they did not enjoy the abundance nor the Promised Land that He created for them. We can experience the supernatural power of God, but if we are not linked to the Holy Spirit, then we too can be like the Israelites and forget our thankfulness. When we grumble and complain, God gets an attitude. Make a conscious effort to stay thankful in order to keep Heaven’s windows open in your life.

 Causes for Un-thankfulness

  1. Challenges can cause us to forget to be thankful.
  2. Familiarity with the blessings of the Lord—we put more emphasis on the blessings rather than the One who blesses.
  3. Comparing your blessings of others—the Father knows exactly what we need.

Always reflect on the blessings from the Lord, and be thankful because God can do something supernaturally with what you have despite how small or insignificant you think it is (2 Kings 4:1).
